Stepping Away to Remember Me (Poetry)

Sometimes you need to step away

not to disappear,

but to finally hear your own heartbeat

under all the noise.

To sit with the silence.

To sweep out the corners of your spirit

where old memories collect dust

and unfinished grief still whispers.

Healing isn’t loud.

It doesn’t arrive with fireworks.

It comes quietly

like morning light through cracked blinds,

reminding you that you’re still here.

Stop letting the past

empty your soul.

Those chapters already took enough.

They don’t get to rent space

in your future.

You survived things

that tried to make you smaller.

You learned how to breathe underwater.

You carried weight

that wasn’t meant for your shoulders.

That alone is proof

of your power.

Step away when you need to.

Not out of weakness

but out of reverence for who you’re becoming.

You’re too beautiful

to stay trapped in old versions of pain.

Too radiant

to let yesterday stall your growth.

Too evolved

to keep negotiating with wounds

that already taught their lessons.

Let go.

Not because it didn’t matter,

but because you matter more.

Your healing is sacred.

Your growth is necessary.

Your future deserves

a soul that isn’t leaking anymore.

Shine your light.

Walk forward gently.

Carry only what strengthens you.

The rest?

Leave it behind.
